It's Been Awhile

Doesn't even seem like this is my blog! I haven't been here for so long. It's a different sarah that comes here now. Time changes things maybe that same said time will find her again.

My Burial Song

When I do die, knowledge to which I'm not privy, I want this song to be the song that is sung at my grave site. It probably isn't the best song but I like it. My choice might change with time, but for now it's the one I'll choose.

A Great Book

Here is a book that lays out a simple yet profound way to pray. It has been a huge blessing to me and I hope it will be to you if you choose to buy it.

When I Cannot Breath

Sometimes I like to hover in some remote place on the net. A place that has no meaning to me, where no one knows where I am or who I am. A place like "Spam Query" which has no meaning. A place where I don't have to think or defend. A place where no one sees or thinks of how I act. I know it is a false place where I hover, but it is a place of solitude where I can breath.

Talking With God

Exodus 34:29 "When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God."

Moses' face shone because he had been talking with God. His face reflected the glory of God, and although this reflection of glory was only temporary, it pointed to a time when we would be changed little by little through the tools of grace, because of our High Priest who goes before us.

One cannot think that nothing happens when we come into the presence of the Almighty God. Whenever we pray and read His Word, we communicate with God as Moses communicated with God. It is different in manner in that we don't audibly hear God's voice, but we can "hear" what He has to say to us through His Word. Every time we enter into His presence by praying and reading, we are changed. It is not in vain that we use the tools of grace. May we always delight in Him and anticipate our communion with Him, knowing that it slowly but surely changes us into His image.

Happy New Year!

I hope that this year finds us hidden in Christ! I also hope that you took the time to listen to the sermon series "What is Worthwhile Under the Sun". Listening to those will help you identify your life's goal and eliminate those things which hinder you from reaching that goal. My life goal is realizing the righteousness Christ imputed to me in order that I might hallow God's name. I need to identify those things which hinder me in reaching that goal. Ultimately, nothing will keep me from that righteousness, but there are things that I can do which set me back. The times that I do choose to sin, and thus set me back, God still works to my own good. He uses those times to teach me remembrance of the misery that sin brings, which then gives me the strength to resist that sin when it raises its head again. God is so very gracious to us in that He doesn't let our own sinful will have the final say in our lives. We choose to sin, but He chooses to work all things out to our good, and He always gets the final say! It's good to have a goal and set your mind to reaching it. With the grace of God, I will attain my goal! May God's grace go with you all this year!
